Microsoft has released a critical security patch for Internet Explorer.
All users should run the Windows Update feature to install this patch.
Microsoft has also reminded users it’s important that they upgrade to a newer version of Windows.
“Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and we continue to encourage customers to migrate to a modern operating system, such as Windows 7 or 8.1. Additionally, customers are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer, IE 11.”
More information can be found on Mashable.com
Microsoft will end it’s support of Windows XP on April 8th 2014.
We recommend all users upgrade to a newer version of Windows such as Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1
Windows 7 is no longer sold in retail outlets but it can be ordered through online companies such as Dell.com and CDW.com.
Purchasing one of these new systems may require upgrading to new versions of your important software and peripherals.
Programs such as QuickBooks, Word Perfect, Microsoft Office as well as your Printers may need to be upgraded or replaced.
As previous Microsoft software met its end of support other software vendors also ended support for the XP versions of their software.
I expect software vendors to follow that same path and start ending support as the year progresses.
Microsoft released this information for the current Windows XP users to understand the disadvantages and risk of not upgrading.
If you are interested in replacing your XP system feel free to contact our Office and we’ll help through this upgrade process.
